This season looked at the ’70s and ’90s, combining the diva and grunge influences. We wanted to create characters – glamorous but slightly odd, a space where the beauty lies. We used wigs, set the hair and brushed it out to create “sets on steroids” that felt old-lady-but-not, and slicked hair back on others for a Lynch-villain vibe. We used loads of Volumising Spray to prep the hair before blow-drying, then we set and finished with Volumising Spray to slightly de-stress it again. For the slick-back looks, we applied High Hold Hairspray section by section and dried each with a hairdryer for a flat, precise finish.
